Gallery » Images of My Life and HIV/AIDS

This project used photography as a tool to break the silence and lift cultural taboos on HIV/AIDS. It formed part of a program initiated by PLAN International on the prevention of HIV/AIDS and was aimed at involving young people in dealing with HIV/AIDS in their own communities.

Our challenge was to use photography as a tool that raised awareness towards HIV/AIDS and as tool for inspiration on how to empathize with people living with HIV/AIDS.

22 young people set out to take pictures in the area around Comayagua and Villa de San Antonio in La Paz, armed with automatic cameras on themes related to HIV/AIDS prevention, love and sexuality, personal care and gender. A book was published at the time of the exhibition.
